Help!

Changing your subscription. Once you are subscribed, you can make almost all subscription changes yourself (unsubscribe, address change, and the like) by using our subscription manager.

Policies and guidelines. This page has information about how to send, how to reply, and general suggestions about participation.

Other questions. Our FAQ page (Frequently Asked Questions) should answer most questions. If you can't find what you need there, please ask for help by sending mail to admin@hobd.org.

Contact information

List manager. Since 1 January 2003, the list manager has been Cynthia McFarland (cynthia@hobd.org). She has been a lay deputy to three General Conventions from the Diocese of Central New York (2003, 2000, 1997). In November 2004, she moved to the Diocese of New Jersey. She serves as Vice Chair of the Standing Commission on Episcopal Church Communications, a new Standing Commission created by an Act of the 2003 General Convention.

Technical manager. Dr Brian Reid, a lay person in the Diocese of California, and kibitzer, developed the subscription manager for the HoBD list and provides the servers and mailing-list software on which the HoBD list runs. He can be reached by sending email to admin@hobd.org, which Cynthia also receives.

Ushers. The HoBD list is blessed to have a group of ushers available to help with any questions you have about being a member of General Convention and about participating in this discussion list. Ushers are volunteer assistants whom Louie Crew recruited originally and who are continuing under the oversight of Cynthia McFarland.

Ushers do their best to welcome new posters to the HoBD list and, on occasion, draw the attention of posters to apparent straying from the guidelines. They are not policemen either, but 'unarmed security guards' as well as guides. At present (Winter 2003), these good souls are:
